Conference Day - Monday 14 November 2016
message by Ian Barker, Chief Executive Officer
For the very first time, staff from all our schools, together with all governors and directors, have the opportunity to meet under one roof.
This momentous occasion will be on Monday 14 November at our Solihull School, chosen because it is at the (current) geographical centre of our family of schools.
I say current, because, as all followers of our Trust will realise, things move on apace and there's always the possibility of more schools joining our family as time goes by.
Behind the scenes, administration staff and headteachers have been busily preparing for this day, ensuring, amongst other things, that we have enough chairs and enough food to keep up to 200 adults comfortable and well nourished.
The programme's theme will be 'working together'. Long stretches of motorway and congested West Midlands roads separate our schools, except of course for our all-through school and Pupil Referral Unit in Wolverhampton which happily share the same site. It is, therefore, never easy to bring people together to share ideas and experiences for the benefit of all.
But if we as a Trust have one area of expertise, it is surely in dismantling barriers to learning. Distance is one barrier we will o'erleap on this day. We are certain that this will be the first of many initiatives to share best practice and energise one another.
Look out for reports and pictures of the event soon after the 14th.
